The Jazz and Blues Week is the perfect way to liven up your November, taking place Friday 8th to Sunday 17th 2019.

The Festival showcases some amazing musicians, in some great pubs serving top notch food and drink. Here’s the place to find out what’s going on and where.

    A four piece band plus female vocalist opens up the Jazz & Blues Festival, playing smooth cocktail lounge jazz, perfect to unwind after a long week. Reserve a table to treat yourself to lunch too. Throughout the week a Louisiana-inspired 3 course menu featuring homemade seafood chowder, cajun chicken with spicy rice and for dessert, key lime pie. A free glass of rum punch will accompany any 2 or more courses from the Jazz Menu, if ordered between 12noon and 7.45pm from the 8th to the 16th, excluding Sunday 10th.

    Busted Flush

    Local village rhythm and blues group Busted Flush make a return to the Cherry Tree. This new band formed in the spring and the Cherry Tree asked them back after a great summer concert in the garden. It is run by Geoff Foster, an Ex pro rock singer and guitarist along with John on keyboards and Grant Salmon on drums. Booking a table for dinner is advisable in what’s promised to be a busy night.

    Inspired by the golden age of jazz, this 4 piece band pays homage to the ladies of Jazz & Blues revisiting the Great American Songbook and tunes made famous by the likes of Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Nina Simone, Julie London to mention a few providing an approach that proves to be at once refreshing and faithful to the original style of the era.     Giulia and Chema are an incredible Soul, Rock, Pop, Motown and Jazz function duo based in London. They’re a high energy, classy and engaging duo with more than 15 years experience of live performances in different venues in London and UK. Their repertoire is characterised by a wide selection of pop, rock, soul and R&B classics, uplifting Motown songs, famous jazz standards and Italian/Spanish numbers, all rearranged in different styles. The duo is led by natural born singer Giulia, a fearless performer who is capable to literally get the audience going with her charming voice and to get everyone involved. Expect a non-stop show, full of famous uplifting songs and classy arrangements, which will get everyone up and dancing and singing along.
